State of Minnesota recognized instructor certification.
This means an AACFI Permit to Carry Graduate Certificate satisfies
the training requirement of a permit to carry application and must be
accepted. ü AACFI’s Minnesota
Permit to Carry Course was written by the lawyers and advocates
responsible for bringing “shall issue”
to Minnesota. AACFI knows
Minnesota gun laws – both statutory and case law. ü AACFI’s Minnesota
Permit to Carry Course was written in consultation with Minnesota’s top
firearms defense lawyers. ü AACFI’s Minnesota Permit to Carry Course trainers have attended the United States’ top self-defense courses including The Lethal Force Institute, Thunder Ranch and Gunsite. ü AACFI’s Minnesota Permit to Carry Course includes the basic tactics and best practices in the safe and legal use of a firearm in the defense of self or others. ü AACFI, in association with the Gun Owners Civil Rights Alliance and the NRA, funds continued efforts in defending, protecting and promoting Minnesotans' Second Amendment rights.

Minnesota Permit to Carry Course
What Does Training Require? ü Expect to spend five to six hours in the classroom learning the necessary legal and practical aspects of carry. ü Expect to spend one to two hours on the range. Range qualification may need to be done at a separate time or location. ü We recommend that you come to the Permit to Carry Course with some handgun experience. ü AACFI’s training will add knowledge and skills for all levels of shooters, from novice to expert. ü If you are a novice, start with AACFI’s Basic Handgun Course. Why Take an AACFI Course? ü Courses are written for Minnesotans with specific attention to Minnesota Law – both statutory and case law. ü The AACFI Permit to Carry Course covers everything from selecting a carry handgun to what to do if forced to shoot. ü AACFI trainers have advanced training and experience in firearms, civilian carry, and firearms law. ü AACFI staff continues to work at the Minnesota State Capitol to defend, support, and protect your second amendment rights. By taking AACFI courses, you help to support this effort benefiting all Minnesotans.
How Much Does It Cost? ü The total cost for Permit to Carry training, including the training course, range fees, and the book, “Everything You Need To Know To (Legally) Carry a Firearm In Minnesota”, is $100.00 ü AACFI course fees are set by the individual instructors and will be competitive against other training alternatives. ü A five-year Minnesota Permit to Carry a Pistol will cost between $25 and $100. The County Sheriff sets the fee.
